Question:

Hello, I watch the canadian daily mass on you tube and I was wondering why they use white wine instead of red wine as the blood of Christ. I emailed them some time back but no one ever answered. Can you tell me, I am very curious to know.Thanks.

Question Answered by Mr. Jacob Slavek

Dear Wendy,

That's a good question, but I'm afraid that they are the only ones that can answer it.  Strange that nobody has replied.

In case you're wondering about the validity, it's perfectly okay, assuming of course that the other guidelines are followed.  (made from grapes.. no additives)

I've never seen white wine used before, and in my own personal opinion red is the way to go.  :-)

Mr. Slavek

Footer Notes: (a) A Eucharistic Minister is clergy (Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion). Laity are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and should never be called Eucharistic Ministers.

(b) There is no such Mass called the Novus Ordo. The Current Mass is the Roman Missal of 2000, or the Oridinary Form of the Mass. The Tridentine Mass is the Roman Missal of 1962, or the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Please refrain from using the term, Novus Ordo. Thanks.

(c) The titles of Acolyte and Lector belong exclusively to the Installed Offices of Acolyte and Lector, who are men (only) appointed by the Bishop. These roles performed by others are Altar Servers and Readers, respectively.
