Question: Dear Brother Ignatius Mary, What a wonderful and blessed site to have come across… I was recently plagued by nightmares and found myself leaving my house at 11pm in the nite to sleep by my mom!! that was a week ago. I woke up screaming and automatically saying “Hail Mary full of grace…” and that is what woke me up.,,, it goes withuot saying that i was terrified beyond belief having had no idea or any nightmare that preceded this… when i came back to the house, a week later, i was awake the entire night and did not sleep at all. the next day i found this site and said a good few of the spiritual protection hedge prayers for myself and my household after having gone to Mass and confession, thank God i slept peaceully and had a good night's rest, with no panic attacks. However, strangely enough this morning when i got up feeling so rested and thanking God i was saying the spritual protection prayer for myself and my 8 year old son, who was still asleep, suddenly jumped in his sleep and got up in tears, which was strange for me as i had just finished saying this prayer for both of us. When i asked him what happened he said he didn’t know why or what terrified him in his sleep, but he got up crying.(my son is 8 years and this is not typical of him,in fact i never saw this). i don’t know if having said this prayer had any effect on any residual evil that may have been hanging around that affected him. any comments would be appreciated. Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Elena: Without knowing a lot more information it is not possible for to truly assess what is going on. I can say, however, that what you describe is consistent with demonic attacks. The fact that the protection prayers seemed to help lends support that your experience is spiritual. Perseverance is the key. One strategy demons can have to to leave because of your prayers but then come back, or attack your child, in hopes that you will stop praying. Do not stop -- ever. Persevere in prayers as you are doing. I also recommend for your child (and for yourself too) a CD called Sleep Sound in Jesus by Michael Card. This CD is a collection of lullabies, but is good for older children and for adults. It is truly anointed and is very effective in keeping demons away. Just play the CD all night long in the child's bedroom with volume low so as not to disturb sleep. This works also for adults while they sleep. The singing of these Godly lullabies tends to keep the demons away. This CD can be used throughout the house. Play the CD low to that it blends into the background and it tends to reduce tension in the house, tension and irritability between spouses, parents and children, and generally brings a sense of peace. There are no guarantees, of course, but we have found this CD to be very effective. Be sure you destroy any books or items that you have in the house that are new age or occult. Without knowing a lot more information it is not possible for to truly assess what is going on. I can say, however, that what you describe is consistent with demonic attacks. The fact that the protection prayers seemed to help lends support that your experience is spiritual.
