Question: My wife and I don't go to the casinos a lot anymore,mainly because we can't afford it,it just got too expensive.My question is"Is it normal for the number 666 to show up in display of the casino machines.It seems that this number always shows up when I would be playing the penny machines or whatever.Very curious.
Question Answered by Dear Rey: Most likely the number 666 is not appearing statistically any more often than other number combinations. When any of us focus upon a number or on some other item we will begin to see that number everywhere we go. This is the natural way the brain works. The number 666 mentioned in the Bible actually refers to the Emperor Nero. We must be very careful about magical thinking and superstition. There is nothing magical or significant in the number 666. In the first century letters were translated into numbers as a way to secretly talk about the Emperor Nero. It was a code. There is nothing to fear when we see the number 666 on the door of the hotel room, on a license plate, or as a house number, or as a number that comes up on the slots. Should that number appear again in the context of Biblical eschatology, then the number will have significance in that context and only in that context concerning the last days and the Antichrist.
