Question: I stumbled across your site, and I must say I love what you're doing. When I was a teenager, a close friend gave me a toy voodoo doll as a gag gift. It was probably about a foot long, covered in green fabric, (probably) filled with cotton stuffing and is roughly in the shape of a man. The fabric skin has diagrams on it instructing a user where to insert pins to effect a spell. The thing went into my closet, and I promptly forgot about it. I never used it or even took it out of the box. It just collected dust. Fast forward to today. I opened my closet and happened to notice the thing still sitting there. I'm much further along in my faith now than when I was a kid and thus am not too comfortable keeping it around. My question for you is do I have to do anything beyond what you normally recommend (which I have read)? I have a cousin who is a Wiccan, and I recall her once saying that certain occult objects should be destroyed by means other than burning (e.g. dismemberment, fracturing). I do not recall her reasoning nor the specific context of that comment. Is there some truth to this, or should I consign the doll to the flame?

A witch does not have the competence to advise anyone on these issues. Your cousin is completely wrong about how to destroy occult objects. You do need to destroy this Voodoo doll.
