Question:

Peace to you Brother. I wrote you on 10/15 and your replies and suggestions are helping me along the way and your spiritual direction appreciated.

I wrote in previous post "I do pray St Michael, say rosary in their ( meaning my family's house) , sprinkle Holy Water sometimes. should we ask priest to come bless the house to protect members and a baby there?" to clarify... I was wondering if it would be helpful for priest to come to bless my family's home and pray protection.

I wonder if this is so. I sometimes feel as though the evil one puts ideas in others minds to direct towards another person-I think ideas they may not have on their own. is this possible?

will try to be more clear....can Satan influence one person to have thoughts doubts or suspicions - towards or about another person- without that person ( or maybe neither person) being aware of source?

God be with you Brother. thank you for your ministry. there is such a increasing need I think~ Dian

Dear Dian:

For a priest to bless the house he needs to have the permission from the owners of the house. Without that permission, you can secretly bless the house yourself, as the House Blessing can be said by laity. So, it depends on who owns the house and their permission to have father bless it.

If you suspect serious demonization and/or paranormal activity in the house, then I recommend the House Cleansing and Blessing from our Spiritual Warfare Catalog linked below. It is more extensive than the standard House Blessing. There are other prayers that will be useful, such as the Hedge Prayers.

Yes, the evil one can mess with people's imagination and thus inspire thoughts and ideas in a person's mind, even if thoughts they would never have themselves, and by that direct those ideas or behaviors to other people. We have an example of that in the Bible:

(Matthew 16:22-23) And Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, "God forbid, Lord! This shall never happen to you." But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men."

Peter was inspired by Satan to say what he said. Jesus knew this, but Peter did not. When Jesus said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan!", I am sure Peter's jaw dropped to the ground in surprise. But, Peter was not aware of the significance of what he said, nor the source of those thoughts.

The devil can inspire people to have doubts, suspicions, and paranoia toward some other person. This has happened to me a number of times where people suddenly have negative thoughts about me just before I start counseling them to help them to be free from demonic influence. Most often the person does not know where the thoughts come from.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
