Question:

Hi Brother Ignatius my husband of 20 yrs came home at Christmas and told me he was having an affair with a woman from Venezuela. We have 3 sons and we ar all very upset. I have told him I forgive him and have opened my home to him but he has no interest in our marriage any more. She has a very high profile job just like him and she has lots of money like him. She has a big masters degree also.

Even though I am Catholic I don't want divorce he is forcing me into it. His personality has changed to be very aggressive txowards me he is coming home next week I am afraid to be around as I know he will be cold and will blzme me for what he is doing. He works abroad and he did go to a temple Buddhist and made a sacrifice to some god he told me laughing before he met this woman but he makes up his own Catholic faith as he goes along so he has been doing that for years

please keep us in ur prayers

Thank You Brother God Bless all the Great worknyou do.

Dear Rachel:

I am sorry to hear about this. We will be in prayer for you and your husband and family.

It is possible that a demon may have attached itself to your husband when he was making a sacrifice in the Buddhist temple. This evil spirit may be a contributor to his personality change and his adultery.

He has free will. Even God will not intrude upon his free will, but we can pray for him. Prayer can dissipate some of the fog around your husband's spirit to allow him to hear the Holy Spirit with greater clarity.

We have prayers you can use in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below. I particularly recommend the following prayers:

Hedge Prayer for Return of a Wayward Spouse

Proxy Deliverance Prayer for a Friend or Relative

Rebuking Particular Spirits-Proxy

The spirits to rebuke here are the spirit of adultery, the spirit of the Buddhist god, the spirit of rebellion, and any other spirit you can think of.

The Church does not allow us to ask a demon its name. Thus, we refer to evil spirits by their attribute, such as the spirit of anger, envy, depression, lust, or the "spirit that is in the room", etc. This is followed by asking God to give us the opposite spirit, such as the opposite of anger may be peace, envy - charity, depression - hope, lust - purity, "spirit in the room" - "fill the room with your Holy Spirit". etc.

Hopefully, he will return to you, but the decision is always his. We will also pray that our Blessed Mother will give you comfort and encouragement.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
