Question:

Is it posible to have made contact with demons when others say there is no demon? Wouldn't someone have seen demonic activity? And how would I know if I had a demon attach on to me would a Blessing from a priest be good enough measures as well as prayer and running from the place as fast as I can?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Ben:

People can say there is no such thing as demons all they want until the cows come home and it will not make it true. The devil and his demons do exist.

Jesus spoke about demons, he cast demons out of people, and he talked about hell more than he talked about heaven.

Demonic activity is usually very subtle. It can be recognized and identified. There are a myriad of possible symptoms. The difficulty is discerning whether symptoms are medical, psychiatric, or demonic.

The details of how to make those discernments are beyond what is possible for this forum.

If you feel there is a demonic attachment, or feel like you are under demonic harassment the first remedy is living the good Christian life of worship, prayer, devotion and good works. The use of Holy Water, regular spiritual warfare prayers, and blessings from priests are also good things to do.

Staying away from places, situations, and people that are into the occultic or demonic is also necessary; so yes, running as fast as you can away from an improper situation is needed.

Most problems will be resolved by these normal means.

The HELP section of our website has a whole host of ideas and advice on how to deal with such things on your own, as self-help, normal means of dealing with possible demonic problems.

It is only when these normal means of grace and healing are not sufficient to resolve the problem that one needs to consult with a Deliverance Counselor.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
