Question: Dear Brother Ignatius; Upon reflection, I felt at the time that maybe God intended me to buy it to destroy it before someone else bought it. I felt that way because as I was looking at some clothes on a rack, on the top of the rack was clothing. When I moved the clothes to look at them I saw this video. It wasn't with the other videos on the shelf where all the videos were kept. It was odd to find it there. I couldn't decide what to do as I was in a rush shopping there for an outfit for my daughter to wear at her Confirmation which was that night. I was concerned about having my daughter see the video and in a rush so I didn't buy it. I put it back under the clothes. (I wasn't told until the night before the Confirmation that gowns weren't going to be given and so had to rush to buy something.) This sudden type encounter with evil has happened before. In the same month I went to the local library and while I was looking up a book on the computer, a young teenage boy on the next computer started to tell me how he was looking up books on spells and wizards. I asked him what religion he used to be and he looked surprized and said he was a Christian. I told him that spells and those things were against God and Christians shouldn't be doing those things. He said he wasn't doing anything. Then I suggested that he look up what others say against the occult but couldn't fine anything in that library. Well he went away and when I saw his pile of books on the occult, I wrote a short note stating how this was against the 1st commandent, the harm spells do, inviting the devil by saying them even in jest. Then I had to leave with my children. I mention all this to explain how I feel God put me in that place at that time to help that boy. I say this in all humility, not meaning to boast. Because these things happen suddenly that was why I felt God was calling me to buy the video and destroy it. I will look for it again when I go back there.

This is when God may arrange things in such a way that we are confronted with an opportunity to witness to the Gospel, counsel with a person, help a needy soul, or otherwise be in the right place and the right time for some purpose that God intends. You did real well in the Library. Praise God! for your noticing the opportunity and ceasing upon it. Most of us are given many opportunities like this over the years, but we often miss it, or we see it and are to shy to act upon it. You had the courage to see it and act upon the opportunity to witness to this teenager. Well done. It may also be a "divine appointment" that you came across that video. If you have the opportunity to go back and find it, I would encourage you to do so. Sometimes these situations are actual "divine appointments" whereby God has arranged for us to be in the right place at the right time. Other times these situations are merely coincidences. But even in the coincidences it is still a test of our willingness to cease on an opportunity to do the right thing as Christ would have us to do the right thing in that situation. God Bless, Bro. It may also be a "divine appointment" that you came across that video. If you have the opportunity to go back and find it, I would encourage you to do so.
