Question: Hi: This is a 2 part question... I have been reading through the spiritual warfare Q&As and in alot of instances if it has to do with an object in your answer you always mention for the person to bury the object in their backyard or wherever or burn and then bury. Now I know of a group that is called the name is in spanish dont know the translation "Union Universal Esoterica del Siglo xx1" this particulargroup is very new age and they say they do white magic to rid one of spells and demons and so on. Well i know that as part of their ritual they tell the person to bury the objects in the ground or cemetery. Now Im a bit confused about this similarity. Now the reason why I know this particular group does this is because my parents in law visited them. Here is the story... For about 5 yrs now the family has gone through turmoil. My inlaws decided to go to this group about almost 3 months ago to see what they say and it was revealed that my father in laws niece had put a spell on him and my mother in law, apparently as a consiquence some of that spell had come upon my husband as well. Im a bit skeptical but in a way believe it because of the many things we have gone through. Well they apparently got rid of the spell. I only recently knew about this. And well Im a bit scared because I know this sort of things are not good. We have been living with my inlaws for 3 yrs now. I have been doing the steps that you have adviced me to do from before, but Im scared that I now have to fight new demons brought upon this situation while still fighting the demons I have been fighting. God created the spiritual principles and laws. Satanists and occultist pervert and manipulate those principles and laws for their own agendas. Satan cannot create anything, he can only pervert what God has created. Thus, the devil uses spiritual laws in a perverted way. The principle behind burying a cursed object is that the earth (the fundamental creation of God from which life springs) dispels the curse. This is similar to the physical laws of electricity that disperses electrical current in the ground and "grounds" a circuit. While occultists are not doing things in a godly way, they still understand this basic principle. There are many aspects in Satanism and occultism that are similar to Christian ideas and practices precisely because the devil uses the spiritual laws of God in a perverted way for his own purposes. For example, in Catholicism we know the spiritual principle of redemptive suffering and the value of offering our suffering to God as a share in the suffering of Christ for the salvation of souls. Offering our suffering to God raises great prayer power, as-it-were. The Devil knows this spiritual principle and uses it in a perverted way to cause suffering to animals or humans in order to raise demonic power. The devil lives in a universe governed by God's created spiritual and physical laws. We cooperate with those Laws as Christians; the devil seeks to pervert those laws for evil. As you have stated, this group is not a group Christians should be associating with. You need to encourage your father-in-law to have nothing to do with this group. As for a curse, such things can exist. People with evil intent may indeed place a curses on someone, which is really a kind of pray to the devil.
