Question:

Brother,

I was wondering if you were familiar with the wealthy business leaders who engage in mock human sacrifice each summer at Bohemian Grove to what appears to be a pagan deity. This seems to be treated by them as a sort of joke, but isn't this kind of activity similar to people who use the ouija board without thinking?

In the eyes of the demonic, isn't mock sacrifice almost the same as actual sacrifice? Can these people be opening themselves to demonic forces without realizing it?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Patrick:

St. Paul tells us that we are to avoid even the appearance of evil (1 Thess 5:22).

So, even if we were to presume these people who not serious and just playing around, they would be violating this admonition of St. Paul (and being stupid).

But, this is not so innocent. To play around with this imagery, even as a jest, is asking for it. The imagery effects our minds in the first place. What we put into our minds -- images, sounds, music, words -- all matters. Images, music, and such can damage our souls, affect our psychology, and even cause physical illness.

These are very negative and very evil images these men are playing with. It is playing with fire for their souls and their minds.

It also opens the door for real demonic attachment.

If one plays in Satan's sandbox he WILL get Satan's sand in his shoes.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
