Question:

Hi, niece went to a clairvoyant / medium with her husband for a reading and were told that her husbands grandmother had a message for them.

During the reading the medium asked has anyone grandfather recently passed away and my niece said her granfather (my father) had died recently. To cut a long story short, my niece believes that my father has spoken through the medium and I think has convinced my mother of the same; they asked if I believe it and told them that I do not and have told my niece that if she believes my father has contacted her, then she is to leave it at that and not to pursue it any further.

She asked why I do not believe it was my father and I told her the Churchs posistion and said there is a danger that the person coming through could be demonic, and she said how come it knows things only my father would know; I told her the devil is the prince of lies and decite.

The thing that has me worried is that my mother and sisters could take this further; my mother is Anglican and the rest of my family bar my older sister who is Catholic do not believe in God.

Any advice on how I can handle this without upsetting people.

Thank you and God bless

Dear David:

There is no such thing as a dead loved one sending a message through a medium. Any such message is a demon, not the grandparent.

The reason information from this "message" may be accurate is that demons know everything there is to know about us and about the grandparent. We have to keep in mind that just as the angels watch over us, the demons keep an eye on us. They can reveal information about us through a medium (when actual information is being relayed and the medium is not a con-artists, which is usually the case) because they have a vast database, sort-to-speak, of the happenings of our lives.

Your mother and niece are playing with fire. To flirt with this is to flirt with the devil. As the old saying goes, "If you play in Satan's sandbox, you WILL get his sand in your shoes."

All you can do is pray for them and to inform them of why this is dangerous, why this is not a message from a grandparent, and why the church teaches what it does. The rest is up to them.

As for not upsetting people, that may not be possible. Do not worry about that. Telling the truth about this is more important than avoiding hurt feelings. If they were drinking poison that might kill them I doubt it any worries about hurt feelings would even come to mind. In fact, they are drinking poison -- a poison of the soul.

This is not to say that you should be obnoxious or bullying. But tell them the truth without apology, tell them the facts, tell them your concerns.

By the way, you might want to look up information about how so-called mediums do their trick. More in likely this medium did not have any information from demons or anyone else but was just applying the same old tricks.

John Edwards and other mediums are fake. There is a technique to what they do -- a combination of inferences, observation of body language, careful interviewing, subtle solicitation of information, and the verbal equivalent of slight-of-hand.

99.9999% of mediums are fake are are merely con artists.

Doing just a quick search I found this site that demonstrates how these fakes work: Click here

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
