How does one become a spiritual warrier? Renee Sunday, July 6, 2008

Question:

I have had more than my influence of the occult in my life.
At 17, I saw a psychic who I believed and followed. She even said I was Catholic and that it would help me express what i felt deep inside (I was not a Catholic at that time but became one at 24 because of her influence).

She went into past lives, my mission on earth, etc. I believed everything she said at 17, she to me had all the answers. Now I am 33 with more questions than answers and feel deeply deeply burned. I cannot undo my life.

But I can help others. In the church, there is no real opportunity for me to counsel and help others. But I am asking you brother, how can I ?

I am deeply burdened to try to save others from this deep confusion and sadness; I want to see young people blossom and grow into what God wants for them; not waste thier life like I did most of my own.

God bless and thank you for your answer

PS Can God turn all this around for my own life; or is it too late for me?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Der Renee:

Before you can help others you have to help yourself. Your need to make sure your own life is cleaned up from the occult involvement you had. I am sure you have taken that to Confession so the sin is forgiven, but residue (consequences) from following the occult can still be in your life. These things can be "hooks" that demons hang onto to stay in your life and make things miserable.

From the very little you have said, the first thing, I think, is to get yourself spiritually clean and stable. I would advise looking at our Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance found on our HELP page linked below.

That is a beginning. You also need to live a good Catholic life and do all the things that good Catholic do. Spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament, develop devotions and prayer. Live a devout Catholic Life.

Once you have your own life clean of all residue of the past and are stable and on track with your life and spirit, then you can think about helping others with the same problems you faced when you were younger.

We will be in prayer for you.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
