Question: I am not familiar with this site but I am searching for some serious help. My husband and I are both Catholic, however, he has had some serious dealing in the past with the occult. He claims he had a demon named Malachi that helped him be a stronger person. I personally feel that whatever he brought upon himself has started influencing things at home. He frequently tells lies as of now and he does things that are not of his normal behavior patterns. I know this just sounds like another bad person type of thing but I know it can't be. How can i get the demons out of him and my home? I don't have time to find an exorcist.
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Melody: If your husband is demonized he will have to come forward to ask for help to become free from this. Even if he comes forward this will not be a fast process. The deliverance counseling we do takes about three months. There are prayers you can pray. Refer to the Spiritual Warfare Catalog linked below. But, he will have to personally ask for help in order to be free from this unless self-help methods work for him. In the HELP section of our site, linked below, is a document called the Seven Steps of Self-Deliverance. I would encourage him to follow that. If living the good Catholic life, going to confession, receiving the Eucharist, developing devotions, etc., plus the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance do not bring relief then he may need formal counseling.
