Question: I just read Begone Satan and the priest clearly believed that in addition to fallen angels, the woman was possessed with the condemned souls of her wicked father and his mistress. The father had cursed her with being tormented by demons. I've been having tormenting spirits get in those around me for 20 years. I began to recognize them. One demon that was in my late husband's late sister, who practiced witchcraft, has gotten in several more people. It speaks of this family with preternatural knowledge. Begone Satan has me wondering if it's the human or her demon! What is current Catholic thought on this? I have deliverance books in the pentecostal tradition as well as Catholic spiritual warfare and several mention the possibility of ancestral spirits.

We must remember that demons lie. Even if the priest thought the girl was possessed by her father and his mistress does not mean she actually was. In any event, presuming this is possible it is extremely rare. As for you assessment of demons "get in those around me for 20 years" that is extremely unlikely. You are not qualified to make such conclusions in the first place. And, such assessments suggest a psychological issue. I would advise seeking counseling.
