Macumba curse on friend´s sister	Tim	Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Question: Dear Br. Ignatius, It has come to my attention tonight that around 5 months ago, a co-worker of the sister of my friend placed a Macumba curse on her out of jealousy. Over the course of these last 5 months, her engagement abruptly ended, she developed cancer in one of her legs, she developed cysts and other complications in her uterus, fell from a third-story balcony and split her head open, and various other things. Whenever she passes him at work he sings a Macumba song as well. The man is Jewish, btw! Unfortunately, she is a lapsed Catholic. She consulted 2 friends of hers who are into Macumba and they told her that based on the things happening to her, this guy has placed a curse for her to die by sacrificing a four-legged animal in a cemetery. I am not too familiar with the voodoo practices of Macumba and Candomble here in Brazil, needless to say. I have advised her to go receive the sacrament of Reconciliation immediately, to steer TOTALLY CLEAR of the occult/Macumba/etc., and to pray a litany of the Precious Blood of Jesus. I am about to translate your deliverance prayers into Portuguese for her too. Is there any other advice you can give me in helping to deliver her of this curse? In the meantime I will follow the advice I have found on this site, as well as pray and fast, asking that she and her brother do the same. God bless you for your help! In Christ, TIM
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Tim: Your advice to your friend is a good. The first thing that must be done is for her to not be a lapsed Catholic. Deliverance comes as we get closer to our Lord. She needs to seek Reconciliation and begin attending Mass each week and living the Christ-life as the best Catholic she can be. If she is not willing to do that then any deliverance will likely be limited if at all. Given that first step, the next thing is spiritual warfare prayers such as the Hedge of Protection prayer and especially the Breaking Spells and Curses prayer. She needs to pray these prayers daily. She should go through the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. You can help her with that if need be. But be aware, you may come under attack if you help her. She also needs to pray for this person tho cast the curse. That person obviously needs prayer and also, those who cast curses usually suffers themselves for doing so. Scripture instructs us to "Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who persecute you" (Luke 6:28). When he passes her at work and he is singing that song, she can counter that with a sincere "May God bless you." These things are a start. See if there is any relief from following this course.
