Question: Dear Bro. Ignatius, I really like your website and am impressed with the many articles listed. Thanks and praise to Jesus for it! My question: Does Sanctification come only from God or also from the Devil? Need answers to this question because I am in the process of discerning 2 visions that were revealed to me in Nov last year and Feb this year - the Feb vision a continuation of the same vision seen in Nov last year. In the vision seen in Nov, I saw myself with a loved one and Jesus' arms around us as I heard these words 'I sanctify this relationship for My glory' I await your reply and thank you in advance for making time to respond :-) Thanks and God bless u!
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Monisha Mary: Sanctification can only come from God. Sanctification means "to make holy". Satan cannot make anything holy. Visions, on the other-hand can have three possible sources: 1) from God 2) created from our imagination and psychology 3) from the Devil Under no circumstances should you try to interpret this vision by yourself. Even though you heard the words, 'I sanctify this relationship for My glory', does not mean this was God talking. It may have been your imagination and psychological state, or it could even be the devil. Alleged visions about relationships are most often psychological wishful imagination. The person so desires the relationship that their subconscious creates the "vision." This is why anyone who believes they have had a vision of any kind needs to consult with a spiritual director to help them discern the vision. God Bless, Bro. Sanctification can only come from God. Sanctification means "to make holy". Satan cannot make anything holy.
