Can I remarry my Ex husband if we got an annulment Nsoucydp Thursday, January 4, 2018

Question:

My Ex husband and I got a divorce as well as an annulment through the Catholic Church.
The fault was mine, I lost my faith and did not contest the annulment. Years later my faith has been renewed and we have decided to reconcile.

Can the annulment be revised and/or can we get remarried in the Catholic Church?
Thank you, and God Bless!

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), LTh, DD

Dear Nsoucydp? Is Nsoucydp a real name?

[Note: Folks, please use real names when submitted questions. They name does not have to be yours, but it must be a real human name.]

I praise God that you have regained your faith. Welcome back to the Church.

To answer your question, if neither you or your husband have been married to someone since your divorce, you can remarry at any time. If either of you have been married since, then an annulment would be required first.

But, it is unlikely you can get another annulment if this does not work out. So, be sure you really want to remarry.

We will pray for a happy and permanent union.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
