RE: Knowledge of Departed Souls Omar Sunday, November 25, 2007

Question:

Thank you Bro for your response to my last question. You said that to some degree, it would appear that those in Heaven have some knowledge of what transpires here on Earth. My next question would then be this: If our loved ones see us going through a trying situation here on Earth that leaves us sad, how would they view that situation. I mean: I don't think they would also be sad, because how can one be sad in paradise, and in God's presence?

Thanks again.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Omar:

Sorry for the delay in responding. I thought I had posted an answer, but apparently not :)

You are correct! Our loved ones in heaven will not feel "sad". They are in eternal bliss in a place where there is no sadness. Instead those in heaven will have a perfect understanding of our plight on earth and of the consequences we find ourselves under due to our decisions. They have perfect knowledge that God can bring goodness out of evil, that He can make lemonade out of lemons.

While we may feel that we cannot handle situations, they in heaven, know that we can handle it because God said so and they know God much more intimately than we do.

With such intimate knowledge of God's promises they, in heaven, have no reason to be sad. Rather they probably look forward to the our enlightenment that our trials will bring us.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
