RE: our desires and God's will Omar Thursday, April 24, 2008

Question:

Thank you for the clarification Brother. I do believe in free will and have never subscribed to Calvinism. I have been reading 'True Devotion To Mary,' and God's "changeless will" was mentioned in there. After reading that, it threw me into a bit of confusion as to how it all works as far as prayer and our own desires.

Thanks and God Bless.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Omar:

True Devotion is a great book. It was the first Marian book I read during my conversion.

The language in True Devotion is a little hard in some places due to differences in culture between these days and the days in which Montfort lived. Some of his language can easily be misinterpreted or cause confusion.

If one can overcome that, it is one of the greatest books on Marian Devotion ever written.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
